Vegan S’mores Roundup: How To Make Vegan S’mores

It’s summer, which means it’s the season of s’mores.
But as a vegan, you may be wondering if you can even have s’mores anymore. Well, I’m here to tell you that you can!
I suppose your mileage may vary, but I actually had very little trouble finding all the ingredients to make vegan s’mores right in my local grocery store.
But without further ado, let’s get into which ingredients you’ll need to find.
Graham Crackers

Graham crackers are usually pretty tricky, as most of them contain honey.
What’s cool is that Nabisco brand graham crackers are completely vegan and honey-free.
Also, since they’re a widely-used brand, they should be pretty easy to find at just about any grocery store.
Marshmallows

The problem with typical marshmallows is that they all contain gelatin, an animal-based ingredient that’s made out of… pretty unappetizing stuff.
The good news is that Dandies makes a completely vegan and gelatin-free marshmallow (that tastes pretty damn good as well, according to my palate).
It toasts up just like a regular marshmallow, and goes great on the classic s’more.
Chocolate Bars

There were plentiful vegan chocolate options at my local Shoprite.
I ended up going with the Bowl & Basket Dark Chocolate because it was the cheapest (less than $3 a bar), but pick up whichever one tickles your fancy.
The Bowl & Basket was also Rainforest Alliance certified, which I thought was pretty cool. You can learn more about that at https://www.rainforest-alliance.org.
The Final S’more

These vegan s’mores are so delicious! Chocolatey with crunch from the graham cracker and pillowy marshmallows, it’s the perfect summer snack.
See, us vegans don’t have to miss out on anything! Save this post for the next campfire you have, and when it’s time to break out the marshmallows, just know that you can participate too.
Also, if you don’t have a campfire handy, you can get a puffy marshmallow by assembling your s’more and microwaving it for 10-15 seconds (depending on the wattage of your microwave). JSYK 🙂
I hope you’re having a nice summer! Be sure to hydrate with the hot weather, and if you like posts like this, be sure to subscribe (in the right sidebar towards the top of the page).
See you in the next one. Peace!
