Dinner Date Ideas For a Valentine’s Night In

Dinner Date Ideas For a Valentine’s Night In

A lot of people enjoy going out on Valentine’s Day with their significant other. It makes a lot of sense-all the cooking and prepwork is already done, so you can just savor the evening with your partner.

But cooking together can also be part of the fun. And if one or both of you are vegan, it gives you more options as far as what the meal can be. Sometimes, there’s nothing more romantic than participating in a hands-on activity and then enjoying the results together.

If you’re stumped as far as what you’d like to cook together, never fear! Read on to discover the quick and easy recipes I’ve rounded up for your Valentine’s Day evening.

Zoodles with Spinach & Sun-Dried Tomatoes

These zucchini noodles-also known as zoodles-are a lighter version of the romantic dish known as pasta. This dish also utilizes the flavors of sun-dried tomatoes (one of my favorite ingredients to cook with, and for good reason).

Flavorful & Cheesy Veggie Burger Parm

This is probably one of the easier options on this list, so it’s great if you want to cook but not *cook*, if you catch my drift. Serve with a light side salad and/or pasta for a more complete meal.

Vegan Steak (Loving It Vegan)

Steak seems to be a classic meal to enjoy on Valentine’s Day, not sure why but it’s been said to feel romantic. This vegan steak looks so awesome. It’s made with seitan instead, and it looks like the perfect main to go alongside mashed potatoes and a steamed vegetable.

Spicy Vegan Chick’n and Peppers

This being a veganized version of a dish I had a lot growing up, it does have a special place in my heart. It’s also really good and, hey, I think spicy foods are an aphrodisiac? Do with that what you will.

Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta with Beans & Broccoli Rabe

This light, balanced pasta contains all the delicious flavors of garlic, sun-dried tomatoes and broccoli rabe, all while being simple to make (and it also has the option to be gluten-free, if necessary).

Creamy Vegetable Vegan Risotto (Minimalist Baker)

A colorful, balanced-looking dish, this risotto takes only 30 minutes to make and uses just 8 ingredients. It’s said to go well as a main or as a side dish, so you might even serve it alongside the vegan steak mentioned above.

Rainbow Veggie Sushi Rolls (Kay’s Clean Eats)

Sushi is a super fun, hands-on dish to make with your significant other, and is also pretty forgiving as far as what veggies you might have on hand. Serve it with pickled ginger, wasabi, soy sauce, sriracha mayo, or whatever else you might like!

Vegan Alfredo Sauce (Chocolate Covered Katie)

This vegan alfredo sauce is delicious, but also easy to make-no blender required! Serve it over linguine, and throw in steamed broccoli, peas, or even some vegan chicken if you like.

I hope this post gave you some ideas! Cooking can be such a fun activity to share with your special someone. If you make any of the recipes mentioned in this post, feel free to tag me on Instagram @cjisvegan to show me what you’ve made 🙂

Also, if you’re looking for a unique and festive Valentine’s Day dessert, you might be interested in my Beet My Valentine Muffin Tops recipe-aside from the punny name, there is drizzling of chocolate involved, which can’t be a bad time as far as I’m concerned.

Until next time, peace 🙂
