Easy Vegan 2-Ingredient Dough: Perfect for Pizzas, Bagels & More
Did you know you can make delicious dough to make pizzas, bagels, biscuits and more with just 2 ingredients?
Yes, it’s not a lie! All you need to make this versatile dough is self-rising flour and silken tofu.
Self-rising flour is a great ingredient to have in your pantry if you want to simplify your baking, as it already has salt and leavening in it. It’s also great for simplifying today’s recipe.
Tofu is good for many things, and boasts many nutritional benefits for vegans such as protein, iron and calcium. It’s also a key ingredient in this 2 ingredient dough.
So far with this dough, I’ve tried making pizza, bagels, garlic knots and biscuits. Though I can only imagine what else you could use it for! My thoughts are that it would be as versatile as regular pizza dough is.
I’m sure it would be possible to make things like breadsticks, pretzels, or even sweet things like cinnamon rolls with this dough. The possibilities are endless!
How To Make 2 Ingredient Dough
This recipe is ridiculously simple. All you need to do is mash silken tofu until into a paste (you don’t want any whole chunks in there), and then knead in some self-rising flour.
The amount of flour used will vary depending on several factors, but you should be able to get a nice ball of dough by adding/subtracting flour as needed.
Start with 1 and 3/4 cups of the self-rising flour and add more as needed until it is not too sticky to work with/comes together into a cohesive dough ball.
Then just use it as you’d like to in any recipe using pizza dough! This recipe makes a 1 pound 5 ounce dough ball.
Easy 2 Ingredient Vegan Dough
Ingredients
- 1 cup silken tofu
- 1 3/4 cups self-rising flour (use up to 2 cups as necessary)
Instructions
- Add the tofu to a medium bowl. Mash it with a fork or spoon until it becomes a paste. Some small bits are okay, just mash down the bigger chunks.
- Stir in the flour. You will at some point need to switch over to using your hands. You may also need to add more flour, add up to 2 cups until it's less sticky and easier to handle. Form your dough into a neat little ball.
- Use this dough as desired! For pizza, bagels, biscuits, or whatever else your heart desires. Makes one 1 pound 5 ounce dough ball.
Let me know in the comments what you used this dough for! I’m curious just what else this dough has the potential to make.
Be well! Until next time, peace 🙂
