Need Inspiration? Here’s 5 Things You Can Do With TVP

TVP is a great ingredient: it has fiber and protein and other great nutrients, and it’s shelf stable! Not to mention it also tends to be cheaper when compared with other vegan meat substitutes.
There are so many things you can do with this wonder ingredient, and today I’m going to share 5 of my favorites.
Burrito Bowls/Tacos
It’s so simple to turn TVP into taco filling. The key is to rehydrate the TVP with a 1:1 ratio of water or broth. Just cook it in a saute pan on medium for about 10 minutes, stirring often, and add your favorite taco seasoning.

Meatless Meatloaf
TVP meatloaf is by far one of my favorite things I’ve made with TVP. And it’s so easy! I give a brief outline on how to make it towards the end of this video.
Vegan Meat Sauce
TVP meat sauce is also super easy to make. Just use a 1:1 ratio of broth to TVP (I recommend broth for this usage to give it more flavor), and cook on medium for about 10 minutes, stirring often. Then all you have to do is add it to your favorite marinara sauce!

Sloppy Joes
I’ve posted a recipe for TVP Sloppy Joes before on this blog, and believe me they are so good! Get the recipe here.
Ground “Beef” for Vegan Chili
This can be prepared similarly to TVP for a vegan meat sauce: Just use a 1:1 ratio of broth to TVP (I recommend broth for this usage to give it more flavor), and cook on medium for about 10 minutes, stirring often. Then add it to your favorite chili! I also have a great recipe for Vegan Crock Pot Chili if you’re interested.
Those are some (but certainly not all) of the things you can do with TVP. I hope you find it as useful and delicious of an ingredient as I do! And thank you for stopping by my site today 🙂
Until next time, peace!
