Come With Me To Make A Vegan Sandwich

Apologies for my absence! Hopefully I’m back to stay.
Today I was craving a nice vegan sub sandwich, and I thought I’d take you along with me to show you how I make a delicious vegan sub.

Any good sandwich starts with a great bread. I decided to get this classic ciabatta from Bowl & Basket (when I picked it up and felt how soft it was, I just knew I had to get it).

As far as vegan lunchmeats/cheeses, I went with the Lightlife Hardwood Smoked slices–I usually opt for smoked varieties, no matter the brand. I also picked up some of the Daiya Provolone slices.

I also sliced up some cucumber and tomato for the sandwich–I don’t prefer lettuce on my sandwich but feel free to add it if you like it. Onion would also have been a great addition but I didn’t think of it.
Condiment-wise, I used some vegan mayo and also some balsamic vinaigrette (which is essentially oil and balsamic vinegar). I also had some banana peppers and some pickles I wanted to add.
And… ASSEMBLE!

And we’re ready to eat! This sandwich was so good, and one big sandwich it was. I simply cannot have a hoagie sandwich without oil and vinegar on it–as well as banana peppers–the flavor it adds just cannot be matched.

Also, as far as vegan lunchmeats, there are a lot of options out there, such as Lightlife, Tofurky, Yves and Field Roast.
Vegan cheeses vary in quality as well, Daiya is good but I would have to say my favorite is Violife (it’s by far the most realistic vegan cheese I’ve tried to date).
Thanks for reading! I hope this post inspired you to go and make a great sandwich. Because vegan sandwiches can be great too!
Until next time, peace 🙂
