5 Ingredient Vegan Banana Matcha Kale Smoothie
I’ve recently taken a shine to matcha. Not only is it a powerhouse of antioxidants, I also find the bright green of a matcha latte visually pleasing, and I personally find the flavor rather enjoyable.
While recently I’ve been trying to perfect my standard matcha latte, I’ve also been thinking about what other applications for matcha there might be. Apparently, people have made mug cakes out of matcha, and peanut butter cups? Unreal.
So I toyed around with a matcha-related smoothie and came up with something I really ended up liking. It’s comprised of creamy banana blended with the iron boost of kale, and a touch of sweetness from maple syrup.
If you prefer a milder matcha taste, stick with 1 teaspoon of the matcha powder. However, if you like it a little bit stronger, bump it up to 2 teaspoons. I personally liked it better with 2 teaspoons, but you stick to your own preferences.
If you’re feeling fancier, top it with a swirl of vegan whipped cream and a dusting of matcha powder. Delicious and nutritious!
