4 Types of Vegan Protein Powder + How I Use It

I started on a health journey in January of 2026 which included the idea of boosting my protein intake. A very useful pantry item alongside that journey has been protein powder.

Although there are a lot of ways to get vegan protein without protein powders or supplements, I will say that protein powders are really good in a pinch, or for supplementing things which don’t usually contain a lot of protein.

Here are a few of the protein powders I’ve been using, and what I’ve been using them for.

Orgain Plant-Based Protein Vanilla Bean

This is my favorite basic protein powder. I like it because not only is it a vegan protein powder, it also has probiotics and is supplemented with superfoods like ancient grains and greens.

I like to use this protein powder in things like smoothies and yogurt cheesecake bowls, as well as protein pancakes.

Vega Plant-Based Protein Berry

I got a great deal on this protein powder at Ollie’s (just $9.99!) so I really like that. But this protein powder also has supergreens and is sweetened with stevia.

I enjoyed using this protein powder in some chocolate berry overnight oats, but it’s great in smoothies as well.

Orgain Plant-Based Protein Creamy Chocolate Fudge

I also like Orgain’s chocolate fudge plant-based protein powder. Similar to the vanilla, it has probiotics and is supplemented with superfoods. Plus, who doesn’t like chocolate?

In addition to things like chocolate peanut butter smoothies and yogurt bowls, I also like using this in brownies to boost the protein content. They actually come out really good!

Manitoba Harvest Organic Unsweetened Hemp Protein Powder

Something I like about this protein powder is that it also contains fiber. Something a lot of people may neglect when trying to up their protein consumption is their fiber consumption, which is equally if not more important.

This was a recent find, but so far I’ve used it in bread and pizza crust. Highly recommend! It’s so useful for many savory applications since it’s unsweetened.

If you’re on a health journey like me, I hope this post gave you some helpful information! Remember, that if you’re upping your protein, it’s also important to stay on top of other nutrients like fiber (I’m not a doctor, this is just what I think).

Thanks for reading! Until next time, peace 🙂
