How To Eat Out As A Vegan: My Top 5 Menu Items

I’m sure a lot of people think of veganism as the “pinnacle of health,” and the first thing they picture when they picture a vegan meal is a sad little salad.

The thing about veganism is that there are lots of different ways to be vegan! And while sometimes we may strive to be healthy as vegans, there are also times when we might just want to let loose and enjoy something less “healthy.”

I personally like to enjoy a vegan meal out here and there in moderation. And today I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you.

So, in no particular order, let’s dig in to some vegan eating out options!

Impossible Whopper from Burger King

A delicious and satisfying vegan burger served by Burger King. I like mine with a side of fries and a Dr. Pepper!

Bean Burrito Fresco from Taco Bell

A classic order when I go to Taco Bell, complete with their red sauce and pico de gallo (ordering “fresco” adds the pico de gallo and removes the cheese). This is a favorite of mine, but there are many ways to order vegan at Taco Bell.

Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich from Panera Bread

I absolutely love the hummus they put on this sandwich, and the peppadew peppers add so much flavor. I request my sandwich with no feta cheese (and usually also no mixed greens). Sometimes I’ll get a fruit cup, and sometimes I’ll get the chips as the side.

Vegetable Dumplings when ordering Chinese food

I love the steamed vegetable dumplings at my local Chinese restaurant. I especially love the dipping sauce they serve them with (something with garlic and ginger I believe).

Minestrone Soup & Breadsticks from Olive Garden

I can never go to Olive Garden without ordering the minestrone soup. Sometimes I’ll even do just the unlimited soup and breadsticks as my meal! Such a flavorful broth and nutritious, veggie-packed soup. I also have to get the breadsticks with a side of traditional marinara.

And there you have it! My all-time eating out favorites. Hopefully this helps you, or reminds you that you can still be vegan while eating out!
